Karratha is a fantastic place to live and work. As a family business living and operating in a remote area, we appreciate the contribution of our local people, businesses and organisations, and particularly our not-for-profit clubs. They make it possible to enjoy playing sport and socialising after work and on our days off, and we are particularly thankful for the opportunities they give to our kids.
At 6 Star Group, we are dedicated to supporting our local clubs financially, in kind, and in any other way possible. We also support our community by striving to source our supplies locally. This aligns with our values and creates more local opportunities.
James has spent 2 years on the board as president, implementing strategies to grow the eight ball competition in Karratha. He is also a respected player, mentor and coach, and the only person in KDEBA history to win Karratha open singles champion 3 years in a row. 6 Star Group also sponsors the Pilbara nationals blackball pool team annually.
6 Star Group has been a member and major sponsor of the KDCCI for the past few years. We believe the KDCCI is important to the development of all business in Karratha, creating opportunities between resource industry leaders and local businesses.
6 Star Group has sponsored Blue for several consecutive years racing his sprint car. Blue is a great community person and volunteer firefighter in Wickham, who upholds many of the same values as we do. 6 Star will continue to sponsor Blue for many years to come.
6 Star Group recently donated footballs, ball bags and nets to Dampier Primary School. We will continue to support the school when they reach out.
Pilbara Hydrogen Cluster (PHC) offers local businesses the opportunity to create a cluster of key stakeholders as required, including small business leaders and experts. 6 Star Group is part of the PHC team and provides assistance in as many ways as possible.
James is a board member of Business Centre Pilbara (BCP), a not-for-profit organisation focused on developing and assisting small businesses. He recently led a strategic change which allowed local sporting and other not-for-profit clubs to receive BCP assistance under the small business banner. The better the local clubs, the better our community.
6 Star Group has been a major sponsor of the Peg’s Creek Cricket Club for several years, helping with their sponsorship programs and player development programs.
